Statistics Class
Course Description
This course introduces you to the field of statistics. Together, we will explore the mathematical tools psychologists use to analyze and interpret their data... numbers which they later use to draw conclusions about human and animal behavior. Emphasis will be on how behavioral scientists use statistics – not on hand calculations!
Students who successfully complete the course will be able to:
1) correctly identify & interpret basic statistics
commonly found in journal articles and books

2) communicate statistical findings in ways that convey their probabilistic nature

3) communicate descriptive statistics in visual format (i.e. APA formatted tables & figures)
4) correctly identify which statistical test to use on a data set based on how the data was collected and the nature
of the variables involved
